Terraria was the indie darling that stole our hearts last year. On first look it looks like a Minecraft rip, just some game that somebody whipped up in a matter of moments to grab the glory that Minecraft still holds. But when you look deeper you find something magical, something way deeper than even Minecraft can go, all on a 2D surface. Its an incredible indie experience once you really delve into its depths and now its coming to consoles.
Which, when you think about it, is pretty appropriate right now. Minecraft released to the XBLA not too long ago and experienced a huge surge in sales and interest. The brand has gone on to sell over 10 million between the PC and XBLA combined! So its not a huge stretch of the imagination to see why Terraria would want to try the same thing.
With over 1.6 million sold already on the PC, Terrarria will be coming to both the PSN and XBLA early next year. The announcement came from a Facebook post earlier today. Some PC gamers are apparently a little irked by the update as there was mention of some new content for console, but not for PC. Whether that means PC will be nixed on any future updates is unknown, but I would imagine that whatever comes to the console will probably end up there eventually.
